Office 365 Collaboration Engineer – Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Office 365 Tenant Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Office 365 and Exchange Online, as well as Microsoft Exchange 2016 or later.
This role will be crucial in supporting a hybrid environment with Office 365 and ensuring seamless integration and operation.
You will manage end to end Messaging email systems (Exchange Server and Exchange Online). You will also provide technical leadership, hands-on implementation, and on-going day to day support across our on-premises email systems and Office 365 environment. This role will also be responsible for developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing our collaboration platform, as well as perform operational work, monitoring, review and implement changes, and complete user requests.
Key Responsibilities
• Experience with Office 365 and Exchange Online. Must be able to act as 3rd tier support for messaging related escalated issues.
• Manage and support Office 365 services including, but not limited to, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
• Experience with Microsoft Exchange 2016 or later.
• Experience in supporting a hybrid Office 365 environment, including Exchange Online and integration with on-premises Exchange environment.
• Experience in Microsoft Windows, including Active Directory, and Entra ID (Azure AD). Microsoft certifications preferred.
• Experience with patch and configuration management of Microsoft Exchange, configuration of Exchange policies, SMTP relay and email routing.
• Ensure the reliability and scalability of Office 365 services.
• Involved in Major Incident Management processes including preparing Root Cause Analysis and implementing Post Incident Recommendations
• Prepare and maintain documentation. Present new ideas and concepts to the team.
• Perform thorough root cause analysis, best practice troubleshooting techniques and processes, and procedures as defined by hardware/software vendors and personal experience.
• Proactively review monitoring systems, take action on alerts, and review/revise thresholds/alerts to ensure infrastructure stability.
• Ensure all support requests, projects and other tasks are reviewed, prioritized, addressed, and completed in a timely and proficient manner.
• Identify, plan and lead projects and tasks necessary to assess, optimize, proactively manage, and maintain enterprise and client systems and infrastructure.
• Identify, document, publish and uphold systems policies, strategies, standards, procedures, checklists, agreements, diagrams, inventory, etc.
Core Technical Skills (Mandatory)
• 5+ years of equivalent work experience
• 3+ years of Office 365/Exchange support experience and operational excellence
• Excellent technical skills including, however, not limited to, Exchange 2016+, Office 365, Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD)
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and problem and change management
