Production Roaster
Reports to: Head Roaster
Direct reports: None
Status: Non-exempt, Part-Time (15-20 hours a week)
Wage: $18-22
Position Summary:
The Production Roaster plays a key role in day-to-day roasting operations, supporting our Head Roaster in all aspects of production. This hands-on position includes assisting with roasting, maintaining a clean and organized roasting facility, preparing retail and wholesale orders, and delivering roasted coffee to local partners.
Duties/Responsibilities
Assist Head Roaster during roasting sessions (loading green coffee, roasting batches, logging data)
Match roast profiles and weigh out coffee with attention to detail
Follow roasting schedules and help prepare batches for packaging
Perform daily cleaning of roasting equipment (e.g., chaff collector, cooling tray, hopper)
Maintain clean floors, surfaces, and work areas throughout the roastery
Be present and facilitate green coffee deliveries and consolidate inventory in an organized fashion
Support regular deep cleaning and preventative maintenance tasks
Weigh, bag, date, and label coffee with accuracy and efficiency
Organize and prepare wholesale and online orders for shipment or pickup
Ensure all products meet freshness and quality standards before distribution
Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor with customers during drop-offs
Adhere to safety procedures and cleanliness standards throughout the production process

Physical Environment:
Job in Roastery mostly solo or very few people
Handling coffee regularly
On feet 50% of job
Ability to lift 100 lbs a short distance and perform physical tasks in a warehouse/roasting setting
This position requires you to be on-site.
Qualifications:
Coffee/ Barista experience is a MUST
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
Excellent time management and attention to detail
Passion for specialty coffee and alignment with Daycamp Coffee’s values and vision
Passion for coffee culture
Food handlers card
Up-to-date on all safe food handling practices and applicable laws
