Our goal is to find fresh solutions and cutting-edge tech to make their operations run like clockwork. Want to be a part of something big?

Are you ready to love your job? The adventure begins right here, with you, at SITA.

PURPOSE

The Cockpit Operations Product Expert will act as the transversal authority across all cockpit-related products, ensuring operational excellence and user-centric design. This role requires deep expertise in cockpit operations, ideally from a background as a commercial pilot or aerospace engineer, combined with strong analytical and collaborative skills. You will bridge the gap between product teams and end-users (pilots, airlines), providing operational insights that shape product strategy, design, and validation.

This role is designed to pave the way for next-generation cockpit solutions, ensuring safety, efficiency, and operational relevance.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Operational Expertise & Product Integration

Serve as the subject matter expert for cockpit operations across all product lines, including industry-leading applications such as SITA OptiFlight and SITA eWAS.
Analyze operational scenarios and define concepts of operation for cockpit functions, ensuring alignment with airline workflows and regulatory standards.
Validate cockpit-related features with end-user panels (pilots, training teams) and provide feedback to design and engineering teams.

User-Centric Design & Experience

Champion human factors principles and pilot usability in all cockpit solutions.
Collaborate with UX designers and product teams to ensure intuitive workflows, clear information hierarchy, and minimal cognitive load for pilots.
Conduct usability testing and operational trials to validate design decisions and improve user experience.
Translate operational insights into actionable design recommendations for cockpit interfaces and procedures.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering, and UX teams to ensure cockpit solutions meet operational and user experience needs.
Coordinate transversal activities such as operational evaluations, lab tests, and flight trials.

Customer Engagement & Documentation

Engage with airline customers and pilot communities to gather insights and validate assumptions.
Contribute to customer-facing documentation, including operational guides, release notes, and training materials, ensuring clarity and usability.

Governance & Standards

Support internal governance processes (roadmap reviews, investment boards) by providing cockpit operational perspectives.
Ensure compliance with aviation safety standards and operational best practices.
Qualifications:

ABOUT YOUR SKILLS

Minimum 5 years in airline operations, flight deck systems, or cockpit function design
Commercial Pilot License (ATPL or CPL) or degree in Aerospace Engineering with strong exposure to flight operations.
ICAO or EASA operational training certifications.
Any certifications on Product Management or Agile development (Scrum, SAFe) will be a plus
Strong understanding of Air Traffic Management (ATM), flight operations and avionics systems.
Familiarity with trajectory-based operations, SESAR/FAA standards, and fuel efficiency management.
Knowledge of EFB applications, datalink services, and cockpit connectivity.
Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Aha!, and SharePoint.
Familiarity with customer journey mapping and user-centric innovation practices.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in multi-cultural environments.
