Job Description
Coastal Trading Ventures (CTV) is a high-volume 3PL and product-preparation operation that has supported ecommerce brands for over 15 years. We specialize in receiving, prepping, kitting, and shipping product at scale — primarily into Amazon FBA.
We move hundreds of truckloads per month. Transportation efficiency directly impacts our margins, warehouse flow, and customer experience.
The Role
We’re hiring a hands-on Transportation Logistics Coordinator to own domestic freight execution and cost control.
This is not a basic scheduling role. You will manage 200+ LTL and FTL shipments per month, oversee drop-trailer programs, audit freight spend, and drive measurable cost reductions through smarter planning and negotiation.
Please read on if this sounds like you!
Freight Optimization & Cost Control (Primary Focus):
• Analyze freight spend and lane data to reduce overall transportation costs
• Convert LTL to consolidated FTL where possible
• Improve pallet density and eliminate underutilized shipments
• Audit freight invoices and dispute accessorial, re-weigh, detention, and demurrage charges
• Reduce detention through improved planning and carrier coordination
Shipment Execution & Drop-Trailer Management:
• Plan and execute inbound, direct-to-customer, and Amazon FBA shipments via TMS
• Own drop-trailer and drop-and-hook programs
• Coordinate trailer pulls and returns
• Monitor trailer dwell time and enforce free-time agreements
• Maintain continuous trailer availability to support warehouse operations
Warehouse & Capacity Coordination:
• Partner with warehouse leadership to maximize pallet counts per truck
• Align carrier schedules with dock flow and throughput
• Prevent yard congestion and underutilized loads
Reporting & Process Improvement:
• Track KPIs including cost per load, on-time performance, and trailer utilization
• Identify and implement process improvements across freight execution
Qualifications - Experience, Skills, Soft Skills:
• 3+ years managing high-volume LTL and FTL transportation
• Direct experience managing drop-trailer / drop-and-hook programs (required)
• Proven track record in reducing freight costs through consolidation, negotiation, and auditing
• Amazon FBA or e-commerce fulfillment experience strongly preferred
• Strong Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reporting)
• Experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS)
• YMS experience is a plus
• Highly detail-oriented and process-driven
• Confident communicator and carrier negotiator
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced warehouse environment
• Takes ownership and drives issues to resolution
Why This Role Matters

You will have clear ownership, measurable impact, and visibility with leadership.
