About the Job
Juniper is seeking an experienced CNC Setup Machinist to join our Production team in Connecticut. This role is responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling machines and CNC lathes to produce high‑quality, precision parts that meet engineering specifications. The ideal candidate brings strong hands‑on machining experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced manufacturing.
Essential Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes
Install, align, and adjust fixtures, tooling, and workpieces
Perform complete machine setups to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and repeatability
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and CNC programs
Conduct in‑process inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
Verify finished parts meet specifications and tolerance requirements
Make tooling or setup adjustments as needed to correct deviations
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of hands‑on CNC machining experience, including independent setup of CNC mills and/or lathes
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings
Proven experience working with tight tolerances in a production environment
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills related to machining processes
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams
High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards
