Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator/Programmer to support our aluminum glazing operations. This role is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to fabricate custom aluminum components used in architectural glazing systems (e.g., curtain walls, window frames, doors). Precision, reliability, and attention to detail are critical in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Program CNC machines (primarily milling and routing) based on fabrication drawings and CAD/CAM models.
Set up and operate CNC equipment to cut, drill, and mill aluminum profiles accurately and efficiently.
Interpret technical drawings, shop blueprints, and specifications to produce components that meet design and quality standards.
Adjust machine settings, tooling, and speeds to ensure efficient and accurate production runs.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines.
Ensure proper material handling and minimize waste through effective programming and planning.
Collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams to optimize part production and resolve design/fabrication issues.
Inspect finished parts to verify conformance using calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation and adhere to all safety protocols.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3+ years of CNC operating/programming experience, preferably in aluminum fabrication or architectural glazing.
Proficiency with CNC programming software (e.g., Mastercam, AutoCAD, SolidWorks CAM, or similar).
Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of CNC milling and routing processes.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication details.
Experience working with extruded aluminum profiles and understanding of glazing system components is a strong asset.
Knowledge of tooling, speeds, feeds, and machine capabilities.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
