Job Description:
Quadrus Corporation is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer and Machinist to join our advanced manufacturing team. This hands-on role combines expert CNC programming using Mastercam with metal machining and machine operation. You will create efficient programs, set up and run CNC equipment, and produce high-quality metal components that meet tight tolerances. This is an ideal opportunity for a skilled professional who enjoys both programming and shop-floor execution in a fast-paced environment.
Job Duties
• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot CNC programs using Mastercam for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis mills and lathes, including toolpath creation, simulation, and post-processing.
• Analyze blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to select cutting tools, fixtures, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies for various metals.
• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to perform milling, turning, drilling, and other metal machining operations while maintaining tight tolerances.
• Conduct in-process and final quality inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM) to ensure parts conform to specifications.
• Perform routine machine maintenance, tool changes, and coolant management; troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to improve cycle times, reduce scrap, and implement process enhancements.
• Train and mentor junior machinists on Mastercam programming and safe CNC practices.
Required Qualifications & Education

• 10+ years of proven metal machining and CNC machine setup/operation experience.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and blueprints.
• Solid mathematical skills and understanding of machining principles (speeds/feeds, material properties, tooling).
• High School Diploma or GED required, technical certificate or associate degree in CNC machining or related field preferred.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail, safety focus, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Fanuc controls.
• Familiarity with multi-axis machining and fixturing for complex metal parts.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software.
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50lbs, and perform repetitive bending, reaching, and gripping tasks in a manufacturing environment.
Other Requirements:
