Position Title: CNC Machinist - Lathe
Reports To: Shop Supervisor
Employment Type: Full-Time
Hourly Rate: $25–$30 (based on experience)
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire or Direct Hire (depending on candidate and fit)
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate is experienced with CNC machining centers, capable of operating CNC lathes, has a solid understanding of Fanuc controls, and is proficient operating manual machining equipment. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a team-oriented attitude to ensure high-quality, efficient production in a collaborative shop environment.
Essential Job Duties & Primary Responsibilities, but not limited to::
• Set up, and operate CNC Lathe to produce precision parts per specifications.
• Select proper tooling and fixtures, perform tool offsets and adjustments for optimal performance.
• Inspect finished parts to maintain quality standards.
• Maintain machines and work areas, performing basic preventive maintenance and reporting issues promptly.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and improve workflow.
• Contribute to a positive, team-driven environment, promoting communication and problem-solving across shifts and departments.
Required Skills & Qualifications::
• Minimum 2-4 years of CNC operating CNC Lathes.
• Proficient in G-Code
• Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, fixtures and tooling.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Proficiency using measurement instruments, including, but not limited to micrometers and calipers.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills (Non-essential):
• Ability to write and edit CNC programs, preferably CAD CAM
• Solid understanding of and experience with Fanuc controls
• Manual machining experience
• Forklift and hoist operation and general shop safety training
Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent
