CNC Machining Specialist (Milling & Turning)

Location: Baltimore, MD
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay: Starting at $28/hour (higher based on experience)

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machining Specialist to join a growing manufacturing team. This contract-to-hire role involves hands-on work producing high-precision components using CNC milling and turning equipment in a fast-paced shop environment.

What You’ll Do::
• Set up and operate multi-axis CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines

• Interpret blueprints, job travelers, and technical instructions

• Produce precision parts to tight tolerances (± .002")

• Inspect completed components using standard measuring tools

• Make program edits and assist in creating CNC programs as needed

• Develop and refine fixturing and setups for repeat production runs

• Troubleshoot machining and setup issues with minimal supervision

• Maintain workflow efficiency and adhere to production timelines

• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area

What We’re Looking For::
• 3+ years of CNC programming experience

• 4–5 years of experience with machine setup and fixturing

• Familiarity with SolidWorks CAM Pro

• Strong understanding of tooling selection, feeds and speeds, and machining techniques

• Experience working with aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel

Additional Experience Preferred::
• Hands-on experience with lathes, drilling, grinding, milling, and hand tools

• Ability to perform basic machine maintenance

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate on process improvements
