Job Description

Job Title: CNC Machine Operator
Location: Newport News, VA
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Shifts Needed: 1st shift 7am to 3:30pm Monday Through Friday; 3rd shift 11:00PM to7:00AM Sunday Through Thursday
Rate: $18 - $24/hr. (Depending on interview assessment and experience)

Duties Include::
• Use CNC machine to bend sheet metal

• Use CNC machine to insert hardware in sheet metal

• Join metal sheets together with spot welding machine

• Set up, clean and maintain tooling

• Check parts produced for dimensional accuracy

• Produce the maximum number of parts in minimum time by working efficiently

• Material handling using forklift or pallet jack, and by hand

• Count and stack finished parts

• Deburr parts

• Monitor quality during production

• Maintain equipment & troubleshoot malfunctions

• Other tasks as required

• Follow company procedures and safety rules

Requirements::
To be considered, Applicants for this position must:

• Be comfortable using a computer to operate equipment;

• Have excellent attendance and dependability;

• Be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers as needed;

• Be able to lift up to 75 lbs;

• Be able to follow written and verbal instructions.

• These skills are preferred but not required:

• Have experience setting up and operating CNC manufacturing equipment;

• Be able to read basic blueprints;

• Be able to use calipers and other precision measuring tools.
