Job Description

Job Title: CNC Machine Operator
Location: Newport News, VA
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $18 – $24/hour (based on experience and interview evaluation)

Shift Availability
1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Monday–Friday)
3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Sunday–Thursday)

Job Responsibilities::
• Operate CNC machinery to bend sheet metal components

• Use CNC equipment to install hardware into sheet metal parts

• Assemble metal components using spot welding equipment

• Set up, clean, and maintain tools and machinery

• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet dimensional specifications

• Maximize productivity by working efficiently to meet production goals

• Handle materials using a forklift, pallet jack, or manually

• Count, organize, and stack completed parts

• Remove burrs and smooth edges on finished products

• Continuously monitor product quality during production runs

• Perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues as needed

• Complete additional duties as assigned

• Follow all company safety policies and operational procedures

Basic Requirements:
Applicants must:

• Be comfortable using computers to operate machinery

• Demonstrate strong attendance and reliability

• Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members

• Be capable of lifting up to 75 lbs

• Follow both written and verbal instructions accurately

• Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

• Previous experience setting up and operating CNC equipment

• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints

• Experience using calipers and other precision measuring instruments
