Job Title: CNC Fabrication Operator (Structural Steel)
Location: York, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Shift: 2nd Shift
Pay Range: $23.00 – $24.00 per hour
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Fabrication Operator to support production within a structural steel manufacturing environment. This role involves operating and setting up CNC equipment used to cut and process steel components while ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Set up and run CNC equipment including plasma cutters, beam drill lines, and angle lines for structural steel processing
• Interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders to understand job requirements
• Safely load and position materials such as steel beams and plates using overhead cranes and rigging equipment
• Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and precision
• Verify dimensions and tolerances using tools such as tape measures, calipers, and squares
• Make minor program edits or adjustments based on material type, size, or thickness
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and assist with troubleshooting machine issues
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work area in line with OSHA standards
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required; trade or technical training is a plus
• Minimum of 2 years of CNC machine operation experience in structural steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing
• Ability to read and interpret structural steel shop drawings and blueprints
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools
• Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production setting
