Job Title: CNC Fabrication Machine Operator
Location: York, PA
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Shift: 2nd Shift
Pay Range: $23.00 – $24.00 per hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Fabrication Machine Operator to support steel processing operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves operating advanced CNC equipment to produce structural steel components while ensuring accuracy, quality, and safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and set up CNC equipment including plasma cutting systems, beam drill lines, and angle processing machines
• Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders to determine specifications and production requirements
• Safely load and position structural steel materials using overhead cranes and rigging tools
• Monitor production runs and make necessary adjustments to maintain precision and quality
• Verify dimensions and tolerances using measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and squares
• Make minor program edits or adjustments based on material type, size, or thickness
• Perform routine equipment checks, basic troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance
• Maintain a safe, organized work area in compliance with OSHA standards and company safety guidelines
Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or trade school experience is a plus
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating CNC machinery in steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing
• Ability to read and understand structural steel drawings and fabrication documents
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
• Experience with material handling equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts is preferred
• Strong mechanical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a production setting
