Job Title: CNC Equipment Operator – Structural Steel (2nd Shift)

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Shift: 2nd Shift
Pay Range: $23.00 – $24.00 per hour
We are seeking an experienced CNC Equipment Operator to support production in a structural steel or heavy manufacturing environment. This role involves operating and adjusting CNC machinery to ensure accurate processing of steel components while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and set up CNC equipment including plasma cutting systems, beam drill lines, and angle processing machines
• Interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and job orders to determine specifications and measurements
• Position and secure raw materials such as beams and plates using overhead cranes and rigging tools
• Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain precision and efficiency
• Verify product dimensions using measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and squares
• Make minor program edits or adjustments based on material size and production requirements
• Perform routine equipment checks, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting as needed
• Follow workplace safety guidelines and maintain a clean production area in compliance with OSHA standards
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training is a plus
• At least 2 years of experience operating CNC machines in a steel fabrication or industrial setting
• Ability to read and understand structural steel drawings and blueprints
• Proficiency with measuring instruments and quality checks
• Experience with cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment is preferred
• Strong mechanical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a production environment
