CMDB ADMINISTRATOR (Service Now)

SUMMARY OF THE FUNCTION/ROLE 
The Change and Configuration Management Unit is seeking three temporary consultants to participate in the implementation of ServiceNow. This will include performing data maintenance, data change reconciliation, data quality audits, and troubleshooting of problems encountered in the automated discovery process. They will also be involved in the development of procedures and process to maintain data quality which will be used for continuing configuration data management.

RESPONSIBILITIES 
CMDB, discovery and mapping

• Assist MTA IT personnel in performing ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping processes and troubleshooting the errors that arise.
• Work with MTA IT staff to configure the Service Mapping tool and load data / dependencies identified by Service Mapping into the CMDB.
• Assist the MTA IT staff in the integration/ field mapping and reconciliation of data from ServiceNow discovery, Service Mapping, SCCM, SolarWinds discovery, and ad hoc loads in the configuration management module.
• Perform change reconciliations for data in the CMDB.
• Assist with audits of CMDB data to ensure that the data is accurate.
• Assist MTA IT staff with maintaining CMDB data which is not discoverable by automated tools.

General/Admin
• Assist with tasks related to implementing the ServiceNow application in the MTA IT environment.
• Work with MTA IT in documenting procedures for the discovery, configuration and change management functions 
• Assist in developing, modifying, and configuring reports, dashboards, and outputs associated with the change, configuration, discovery and mapping functions.

RISKS
• Consultant will be performing desk work only while on MTA premises. They will be on premises during normal business hours for the one year of their engagement.
• Consultants will not be performing any work within 50 feet of track right of way.
• Whether the work may involve areas with environmental risks (lead, asbestos) -- substantial or minimal (no).

DELIVERABLES & DUE DATES
Individual assignments will be given which will include specific deliverables and due dates for that assignment. The type of deliverables that may be requested include:
1. Business Process Flows
2. Requirements
3. Test Plans
4. Test Cases/Scenarios
5. Action Item Logs
6. Risk Matrices
7. Status Report

All source files will be provided to the MTA.

QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION 
• Experience with the ServiceNow application and specifically the modules relating to Discovery, management of Configuration items, and Change Management.
• Detailed understanding of, and experience with, ITIL processes
• Excellent oral, written, presentation, and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2013 (Word, Excel,PowerPoint)
• Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint version 2010 or higher
• Excellent inter-personal skills including the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute in a high-pressure environment
• Ability to independently set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast- paced environment; a self-starter
