• Ensure efficient operation of hotel properties, equipment, and maintenance services whilst protecting the Owner's assets.
• Oversee structural aspects, grounds maintenance, and external facilities of the hotels.
• Monitor budgets and control expenses across all areas of the department.
• Coordinate purchasing for Engineering departments in line with hotel procedures.
• Implement and monitor preventive maintenance procedures, including the annual Preventative Maintenance programme.
• Oversee all technical installations, including building services, kitchen equipment, and hotel systems.
• Ensure compliance with Minor Hotels policies on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
• Provide solutions for emergency situations and significant technical issues.
• Lead and support the Chief Engineers & team members in achieving financial, operational, and service delivery targets through effective policy development and training.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in engineering roles within the hospitality industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management position
• Proven track record as a Director of Engineering or similar role in a multi-property or large-scale hotel environment
• Comprehensive knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems
• Strong understanding of energy management and sustainability practices in the hospitality sector
• Proficiency in computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) and property management software
• Excellent project management skills with experience in renovation and capital improvement projects
• In-depth knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and health and safety standards
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budget preparation and cost control
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop engineering staff across multiple properties
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, team members, staff, and stakeholders at all levels
• Proven problem-solving skills and ability to make quick, informed decisions in high-pressure situations
• Professional certifications such as Certified Hotel Engineer (CHE) or equivalent are highly desirable
• Fluency in English; additional languages are advantageous
