Required Skills
Job Description
Manage work of the Cloud Standards Board (CSB) and CSB Core Team (3 members). The CSB Lead directs technical analysis, validation, and standardization of cloud services for the enterprise. This role ensures that every cloud service reviewed by the Cloud Standards Board meets security and architecture requirements before the service controls are automated and deployed. You will bridge the gap between business requirements provided by the Service Enablement Product Owner (PO) and technical implementation executed by the Policy as Code (PaC) team.
Key Duties
Work closely with the Service Enablement Product Owner (PO): Work closely with the Service Enablement PO and CSB Project Manager (PM) to reduce the time it takes to get a new service enabled by 30% in 2026 and improve the process for enabling services. The Service Enablement PO handles the "what" and "why" (business value and flow), while the CSB Lead handles the "how" and "done" (technical integrity and final sign-off of services).
Work closely with CSB Product Manager (PM) and PaC Lead, and Service Enablement Product Owner (PO): Plan reviews for CSB service enablement requests, and track/document states of requests to maintain statistics/metrics on service enablement. Report status weekly, or more often if required.
Incorporate AI into processes: Incorporate use of AI into service enablement processes, including developing service enablement workbooks, metrics and other use cases. Support ongoing AI initiatives as needed.
Architect Coordination: Direct AWS, Azure and GCP analysts/architects to ensure cloud service documentation is accurate, actionable, and ready for review.
Process Engineering: work with the Service Enablement Product Owner (PO) and Project Manager (PM) to identify and address service enablement process bottlenecks. Standardize CSB work intake from tickets, waivers, and informal requests into enterprise work-tracking tools (GSEP, ADO) to improve velocity.
Technical Escalation: Primary point of contact for the Policy as Code (PaC) team regarding technical implementation issues, control gaps, or architectural blockers.
Drive/lead Service Validation activities: lead meetings to review PaC controls, and validate that automated controls produced by PaC team accurately reflect the requirements defined by the Cloud Standards Board (CSB).
Service Standardization: Evaluate cloud service usage and control maturity to promote services to Enterprise Standard status via the Architecture Standard Review (ASR) process. Develop process and cadence for reviewing and promoting services to standard.
Manage service waiver queues: Review and approve waivers for non-standard services at least twice weekly. Reduce the time that waivers for approved cloud services wait in queues for approval by Cloud Standards Board core team.
Stakeholder Mediation: Lead service reviews before the Cloud Standards Board (a panel of Security, Perimeter, and Enterprise Architecture experts). Resolve blockers regarding service viability or security incompatibilities.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Service Enablement Acceleration: Work with Service Enablement PO to reduce service review duration by 15% by the end of Q2 2026, and by 30% by end of Q4 2026.
Request Status: Work with Service Enablement PO and CSB Project Manager to accurately status service enablement requests and waiver requests for customers/users.
Accuracy: Maintain 100% accuracy between documented and reviewed controls and PaC automation. This requires previewing controls with the PaC team before they are reviewed with the CSB, updating controls that change during the automation process, and re-reviewing them with the CSB. Maintain 100% accuracy between cloud service reviews and approvals with the cloud service status dashboard.
Intake Compliance: 100% of work items tracked in formal tools, eliminating undocumented "shoulder-tap" requests.
Reduce ASR request backlogs: the Architecture Standard Request (ASR) and Service Validation backlog by 50% by the end of Q4 2026.
Reduce waiver wait-time: Reduce wait-time for waiver approvals by 30% by end of Q4 2026. Work with SaTRN/ESATS product owners to improve the tools and update them to accommodate cloud service enablement processes.

Weekly status reports and meetings with Service Enablement PO and PM to status service enablement metrics.
Validated cloud service packages for customer use.
