What will you be doing?

We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to join our ambitious team in London. This is a permanent role with hybrid working pattern, with minimum 2 days per week office attendance.

Here you’ll provide support for Cloud-based applications and services and recommend enhancements to meet customer requirements. You’ll take the lead on ad-hoc investigations; identifying additional service requirements and assisting with the delivery of new projects. You’ll work closely with the Head of Infrastructure & EUC and Infrastructure & EUC Lead, in running quality-driven, Agile-inspired, proactive and customer/business-oriented services, that are aligned with the overall strategic development of all Technology services for S&W.

As a Cloud Engineer, your responsibilities will include among others,

• Design and implement Azure cloud solutions to meet business requirements
• Manage and monitor Azure resources, including virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking components
• Automate deployment and configuration processes, utilising tools such as PowerShell
• Ensure the security and compliance of our Azure environment by implementing best practices and security controls
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure infrastructure and services
• Assist with integration plans for merging the IT systems of the acquiring and target companies, ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruption to business operations
• Assess and mitigate risks associated with the integration of IT infrastructure, including data security, compliance, and system compatibility

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you should have,

• Experience of working in a Hybrid Cloud environment
• Proven experience as an Azure Cloud Engineer or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of Azure services and architecture
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python

Desired:

• Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer), or equivalent
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Working knowledge of Zscaler
• In-depth knowledge of Azure firewalls
• SQL experience
