ABOUT THE ROLE

We are launching a new project and expanding our team with several Cloud Data Engineers (AWS), including a Tech Lead who will also take on hands-on engineering responsibilities. The Tech Lead will drive the migration and transformation of data pipelines into a modern, scalable, and governance-compliant AWS-native environment, while mentoring the team and setting engineering standards. Alongside the Tech Lead, our Cloud Data Engineers will contribute to designing and implementing AWS-first solutions, building self-service data modeling capabilities, ensuring robust data quality, and integrating pipelines into cloud-native architectures. These roles combine technical delivery with collaboration, enabling the team to deliver high-quality, scalable data solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Migrate and transform existing data pipelines into AWS services (e.g., Glue, S3, Redshift, Athena, RDS, CDK).

• Develop and maintain Python-based automation and ETL processes using tools such as Pandas, PySpark, and boto3.

• Ensure data quality, consistency, and security throughout the migration and transformation processes.

• Contribute to the design and implementation of an AWS-native architecture for self-service data modeling.

• Integrate and optimize data models in Redshift (DWP2) and Athena for scalable analytics and reporting.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data architects, developers, and business stakeholders.

• Document solutions and provide handover and validation to business units.

• Support centralized monitoring, governance, and security compliance in line with organizational standards.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven hands-on experience with AWS data services (Glue, Redshift, Athena, S3, RDS).

• Strong Python programming skills, including experience with data processing libraries (Pandas, PySpark, boto3).

• Solid knowledge of ETL/ELT design, development, and optimization.

• Experience with cloud-based data migration and transformation projects.

• Understanding of data governance, quality assurance, and compliance practices.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK and Terraform).

• Strong proficiency in SQL for building, optimizing, and maintaining data transformations.

• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

• AWS certifications would be a strong advantage.

• Willingness and readiness to travel as required by project or client needs is expected. This may include occasional domestic or international travel, sometimes on short notice.
