Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Administrator to join our team to design, build, and optimize our cloud infrastructure in AWS. This role will assist and inform architectural decisions It will also ensure scalability, security and compliance, and drive best practices across the organization. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AWS, strong Terraform skills, and a proven track record in building and maintaining robust, secure cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
Help steer the design, implementation, and optimization of AWS-based infrastructure to support Cronometer's products and services in collaboration with existing Cloud Engineers and Architect
Develop and enforce best practices for cloud security, scalability, cost optimization, and performance.
Work hands-on with Terraform to build and manage infrastructure as code.
Collaborate with software engineering and data teams to ensure infrastructure meets evolving business needs.
Further implement CI/CD processes and automation for cloud deployments.
Evaluate and integrate new AWS services and tools to improve our cloud ecosystem.
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing to other members of the team.
Must Have
AWS Certified (Solutions Architect – Associate level or higher).
3 years+ hands-on experience administration and architecture of AWS infrastructure services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation, etc.).
Professional experience in Terraform for infrastructure as code (certification preferred).
Experience with Amazon Datalake toolset.
Professional experience administering monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, New Relic).
Proven experience implementing and maintaining secure cloud environments.
Strong background in networking and cloud security best practices.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
Nice to Have
ISO compliance or audit experience.
Experience with container orchestration (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages for automation.
Previous experience in a leadership or mentorship capacity.
