Role Overview
The Manager of Clinical Training is a strategic leadership role that bridges the gap between administrative efficiency and clinical excellence. This position requires a "utility player" background, leveraging years of firsthand experience to develop training that resonates with both front and back-office teams. The Manager oversees the end-to-end development, implementation, and assessment of educational programs for all non-provider staff (patient care associates and medical assistants). By integrating Adult Learning Principles, the Manager ensures high retention and immediate skill application, driving improved patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Development: In partnership with the Leadership Team, design and standardize training materials using instructional models such as ADDIE to ensure scalable learning solutions.
Onboarding & Mentorship: Lead 30-60-90-day onboarding programs and establish mentorship/preceptorship initiatives for new hires.
Front-Desk Training: Maintain, train, and develop procedures and protocols for patient scheduling, EMR training, billing, Provider preferences, and our patient experiences.
Clinical Competency: Direct training for new Medical Assistants (MAs) in HPI, documentation, referrals, and clinic workflow.
Adult Learning Execution: Apply behavioral change theories and microlearning (bite-sized mobile modules) to accommodate busy clinical schedules.
Technology Integration: Oversee training for EMR, Telehealth, Google Workspace, and Monday.com.
Compliance Oversight: Ensure all training aligns with evolving HIPAA, OSHA, and CMS regulations through automated update tracking.
Collaborate with Leadership and Department Supervisors for continuous development and reinforcement of Integrity Medical Group’s policies and procedures.
Travels to each clinic location to ensure continual training or support is provided to patient care associates and medical assistants.
Works as the official IMG “floater” patient care associate or medical assistant for each clinic when needed to support the business.
Experience & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 5 years of verifiable experience in both Front Desk Operations and as a Medical Assistant (MA).
Leadership: At least 2+ years in a supervisory or training leadership role preferred.
Certification: Active MA certification (CMA or RMA) is required; additional certifications in training (e.g., CPTD) or Medical Office Management (CMOM) are highly desirable.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Workspace and major EHR platforms (e.g., Epic, eClinicalWorks).
Demonstrated knowledge of Adult Learning Principles in a previous position.
Essential Core Skills (2026 Trends)
Adult Learning Expertise: Deep understanding of how adults acquire and retain knowledge, such as through the Transtheoretical Model.
Completed a Train the Trainer Course within 6 months of employment.
Emotional Intelligence: Ability to train "soft" skills like empathy and active listening using digital avatars and role-playing techniques.
Data Analytics: Ability to translate training feedback and clinical metrics into ROI and performance improvements.
