POSITION PURPOSE:
The Clinical Systems Analyst supports, optimizes, and maintains clinical applications such as Athena EHR and Curve EDR. They will also leverage data-driven insights to improve patient outcomes, optimize operational performance, and support evidence-based decision-making. This role is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex healthcare data from diverse sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. This role bridges clinical operations, IT, and data/reporting to improve workflows, ensure data integrity, and support quality care delivery for underserved populations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Skilled in analyzing incomplete, sensitive, or ambiguous clinical information and transforming it into accurate, compliant reports.
· Able to identify reporting discrepancies, data quality issues, and trends, and escalate
· Provide day-to-day support for EHR and clinical systems or resolve them using established clinical and regulatory standards.
· Experience creating and delivering reports for clinical leadership, compliance departments, and regulatory agencies.
· Troubleshoot user issues, errors, and workflow challenges
· Planning, designing and implementation of clinical applications
· Training care teams on encounters, standing orders, documentation, and EMR/EDR processes.
· Reviews clinical staff workflow and develops solutions for workflow deficiencies and gaps.
· Coordinates implementation of new modules; leads and coordinates upgrades and changes to modules incorporating testing, training, and communication.
· Collect, clean, and manage large sets of healthcare data from electronic health records (EHRs), claims, patient surveys, and operational systems.
· Develop professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.
· Configure and maintain system settings, templates, and user roles
· Analyze trends in patient care delivery, patient engagement, appointment utilization, and other quality measures.
· Collaborate with admin to identify data needs and translate business questions into analytical solutions.
· Ensure data accuracy, security, and HIPAA compliance in all analytics processes.
· Support reporting requirements for quality programs, such as PCPCH, CCO/UDS, and APCM initiatives.
· Other duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Public Health, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
· 2+ years of experience in a healthcare data analysis role.
· Familiarity with healthcare standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, ICD, CPT).
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
· Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Hearing: within normal limits with or without use of corrective hearing devices.
• Vision: adequate to read 12-point type with or without use of corrective lenses.
• Must be able to verbally interact with staff, clients, and the public.
• Manual dexterity of hands/fingers for writing, computer input.
• Standing, walking, sitting, lifting and carrying, able to carry up to 25 pounds. Pushing/pulling, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and handling, climbing stairs (elevator available).
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work indoors in heat-controlled environment 95% of the time. Office environment.
Some exposure to pathogens. Personal protective equipment provided. Some exposure to hazardous materials. Safety materials provided for hazardous materials.
1) OSHA Exposure Category – Category #1: Possible job-related exposure to blood and/or body fluids. Requires the appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
