Clinical Support Manager

Position Summary: The Clinical Support Manager works with Senior Leadership, Office Managers, and clinical staff for the implementation of best practices of clinical operations.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management or related field
Years of experience: Two (2) years minimum working in a primary health care setting
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Highly motivated and able to engage and motivate peers and subordinates
Strong clinical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to teach, coach, mentor and counsel as appropriate to ensure optimum individual and team performance.
Ability to create and support a culture of teamwork
Ability to model cultural humility and inclusivity
Ability to build and maintain positive and professional relationships based on respect, trust, and safety
Exemplary problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills in high-stress situations
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Understanding of effective medical workflows, including clinical support staff roles and responsibilities
Knowledge of key regulations related to health care: HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, VFC, etc.
Strong computer skills including EMR and Office applications
What You’ll Do
Manage Medical Assistants and Certified Medical Assistant staff
Work in partnership with administrative and clinical leadership in the planning and implementing of programs to enhance workflows for increased productivity and adherence to best practices
Design and implement training for clinical support staff, including new employee training, skill evaluations, and continuing education
Train and monitor compliance with VFC, 317 and other vaccine programs
Periodically audit adherence to policies and procedures among clinical and administrative support staff
Partner with Compliance Officer and other leadership staff to ensure knowledge of and adherence to all federal and state regulations are followed, including:
OSHA
CLIA
HIPAA
VFC
Procurement
Bio-hazard waste removal
Remain current on relevant trends in primary care in the FQHC environment
Coordinate MA externships
Travel between sites for coordination and continuity of clinical policies and procedures
Cross-train clinical support staff in dispensary policies and procedures to ensure continuity of dispensary services
Perform other duties as assigned
