A Clinical Quality Coordinator job is available with the City of Fort Worth (Office of the Medical Director/Quality Division)The Office of the Medical Director (OMD) is tasked to provide medical direction and oversight for the Fort Worth Reginal EMS System. We work closely with our partners at Fort Worth Fire and our member cities to continuously monitor and improve the out-of-hospital emergency medical care we provide to our communities. The Quality Division is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the functions of the Quality Management Program under direction of the EMS Chief Medical Officer.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field (emergency medical services management, healthcare administration).

• Five (5) years’ experience as a paramedic in a busy 911 system.

• No exclusion by the OIG to participate in Federally Funded Health Care Programs.

• Advanced credentialing requirement.

• Completion of IHI Basic Certificate in Quality and Safety within one (1) year from date of hire.

• Completion of NAEMSP Quality and Safety within one (1) year from date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• IHI Basic Certificate in Quality and Safety.

• NAEMSP Quality and Safety.

• Master’s degree in related field.

The Clinical Quality Coordinator job responsibilities include:

• Directs, coordinates and reviews the quality assurance processes of the OMD Quality Management Program including error detection/reporting, initial review of cases, risk categorization, information gathering, evaluation, presentation, disposition, and action plan formulation in accordance with identified quality improvement goals and clinical benchmarks.

• Reviews patient care information for adherence to standard of care and medical protocols, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness of clinical care.

• Oversees and ensures the implementation and execution of clinical improvement plans for FRO providers.

• Leads and/or facilitates system quality improvement initiatives utilizing the “Model for Improvement” framework and Plan-Do-Study-Act (“PDSA”) methodology in alignment with established clinical benchmarks and organizational goals.

• Collects, analyzes, and validates clinical data for quality improvement purposes.

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting; depending on assignment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dust, poor ventilation.

Light Work – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects.
