Job Description
Position Summary:
The Clinical Educator is responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive wound care education and training programs for clinical staff, providers, and partner organizations. This role plays a key part in maintaining clinical excellence, promoting best practices, and supporting the ongoing professional development of care teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and evaluate clinical training programs specific to advanced wound care techniques, protocols, and technologies
Provide onboarding education to new providers and clinical staff to ensure consistency in standards of care
Deliver in-person and virtual training on topics including wound assessment, dressing selection, documentation, and regulatory compliance specific to wound care
Serve as a subject matter expert for wound care practices, advanced therapies including skin substitutes, negative pressure therapy, and chronic wound management
Support clinical competency evaluations and ongoing skill assessments across the provider network
Collaborate with the clinical leadership team to identify knowledge gaps and recommend targeted learning interventions
Develop educational materials, presentations, and tools in alignment with evidence-based practices and regulatory standards
Partner with sales and client-facing teams to support education initiatives for referral sources or partner facilities
Stay current with industry developments, clinical guidelines, and continuing education requirements in the field of wound care
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical protocols
Partner with HR to understand provider needs based on provider interviews and client feedback
Performs other duties as assigned to support the needs of the organization
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) with active license required
Certification in wound care (e.g., WOCN, WCC, CWCN) strongly preferred
3+ years of clinical experience in wound care, preferably in both outpatient and post-acute settings
Prior experience in training, education, or clinical instruction is strongly desired
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to develop educational content and effectively engage adult learners
Proficient in Microsoft Office, EMR systems, and virtual learning platforms
Willingness to travel regionally or nationally as needed
