About the Role

The Clinical Education & Simulation Advisor plays a vital role in strengthening clinical capability across the District by developing, implementing, and evaluating agile, multi-modal learning solutions including face-to-face training, simulation-based education, virtual learning, and blended models.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with Clinical Educators, Heads of Department, and Clinical and Service Managers to design and deliver high-quality education that supports staff development and enhances clinical performance. Your work will directly contribute to building workforce capability and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and efficient health services that meet the needs of patients, carers, and the community.

The Clinical Education & Simulation Advisor is instrumental in promoting contemporary learning practices, advancing simulation-based training, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.

Our Clinical Education & Simulation Team is seeking interest for an enthusiastic Advisor who will help to facilitate high quality education and simulation experiences for a twelve-month period. There is also the potential opportunity for extension with reduced hours after this time. This position provides a great opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive team offering flexible hours and varied job tasks.

This is a part time temporary role based at Port Macquarie Base Hospital.

About You

You are a skilled and motivated clinician with registration through AHPRA as a Registered Nurse or Midwife, Allied Health Professional, or Medical Officer, or you hold relevant tertiary qualifications supported by equivalent experience in education, clinical practice, or simulation-based learning. You bring a solid background in simulation education services, combining both practical expertise and contemporary knowledge in clinical training.

You have demonstrated experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating inter-professional, multi-disciplinary learning programs, using adult learning principles to meet both strategic and operational needs. Your strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills enable you to consult, negotiate, and liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including leading simulation scenarios and facilitating high-quality debriefs. Highly organised and efficient, you possess excellent time management skills, enabling you to meet tight deadlines and deliver results within defined resources. You can work both independently and collaboratively as part of a high-performing team, and you have the ability to motivate, guide, and coordinate staff in dynamic learning environments.

You are proficient in the use of varied software programs, including word processing, data management systems, spreadsheets, and simulation equipment or software. With a current driver’s licence and the flexibility to travel or stay overnight on occasion, you are ready to support education activities and campaigns across the District.
