Position Summary
WCC is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant Program Coordinator to oversee and manage the Dental Assistant program at our Central City Campus. This role is responsible for ensuring program compliance, supporting faculty, coordinating curriculum and scheduling, and promoting student success. The ideal candidate will hold the required dental qualifications and possess leadership skills to manage program operations effectively.
Professional Qualifications
Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) with current certification and in good standing with the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia (CDSBC)
Minimum 2 years of work experience as a Certified Dental Assistant.
Classroom and clinical teaching experience is an asset.
Completion of, or actively working towards, a Provincial Instructor Diploma or equivalent, or minimum two years of teaching/training experience.
A bachelor’s degree or working towards a bachelor's degree would be preferable
Key Responsibilities
Program Oversight: Ensure program compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Maintain curriculum quality and update content as needed to meet industry standards.
Curriculum Development: Manage the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of curriculum to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and alignment with industry requirements
Faculty Support: Assist with recruitment, training, and evaluation of dental instructors. Facilitate faculty meetings and promote professional development.
Student Support: Monitor student attendance, performance, and feedback. Address academic concerns and provide advising support.
Scheduling & Coordination: Plan and organize class schedules, assign instructors, and coordinate clinical practicum placements.
Administrative Duties: Maintain program records, manage supplies and resources, oversee program meetings, and ensure smooth program operations.
Teaching (where required): Deliver instruction, assess student progress, and submit grades.
Schedule: 25-30 hours per week
