Job Overview:
Join our dedicated team as a Clinical Aide specializing in Early Interventions, where your compassionate approach and proactive mindset will make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families. In this vital role, you will support clinical staff by providing direct patient care, assisting with behavioral health interventions, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other behavioral health needs. Your energetic participation will help foster early developmental progress and promote positive outcomes through attentive support and precise documentation.
Responsibilities:
Complete the required 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician training course prior to their scheduled date of hire (minimum of 5 days to complete).
Receive general direction and works under the general guidance of the BCBA and clinical administration and collaborates with the supporting staff.
Support and assists with the completion of day-to-day therapy tasks and activities in accordance with applicable child treatment plan goals and objectives.
Observe and assists with the implementation of child’s treatment plans and group instructional activities.
Ensure assigned checklist tasks and activities are completed timely and appropriately.
Gather, assemble, and organize materials in the therapy room, as appropriate.
Assist in observing and interpreting child activities while in the therapy room.
Assist with data collection and reporting of child learning progress.
Apply basic working knowledge and understanding of each child’s treatment plan skill acquisition short- and long-term goals and behavioral intervention plan (antecedent and proactive procedures).
Provide general feedback and updates to the BCBA, clinical administration, and supporting staff regarding therapy room activities, tasks, and general observations.
Adhere to and demonstrates appropriate childcare standards and practices, and consistently adheres to all company policies, procedures, and practices of Kaleidoscope Interventions. (Per Employee Handbook and company SOP’s).
Ensure a clean, safe, attractive, and functional learning environment.
Monitor children for signs of child abuse, and reports incidents of suspected abuse to appropriate staff (BCBA and clinical administration) and personnel immediately.
Attend meetings, events and seminars as required by Kaleidoscope Interventions.
Consistently demonstrate a high level of integrity, responsibility, accountability, teamwork, and ethics.
Assist RBT/BCaBA/BCBA with children who are not in problem behavior when other children are engaged in problem behavior.
Maintain and acquires technical knowledge by attending required training.
Maintain client confidentiality.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Experience:
Experience working directly with children in educational, clinical, or therapeutic settings is highly preferred.
Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies and behavior management techniques is essential.
Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder enhances your effectiveness in this role.
Familiarity with medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and medical documentation practices is important.
Background in special education, social work, addiction counseling or behavioral health provides a strong foundation for success.
Ability to accurately measure vital signs and perform basic patient care tasks demonstrates readiness for this position.
