The Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) is the largest Fire Department in the United States and universally is recognized as the world's busiest and most highly skilled emergency response agency. The Department's main goal is to provide fire protection, emergency medical care, and other critical public safety services to residents and visitors in the five boroughs. The Fire Department, City of New York (FDNY), seeks a full-time Clerical Associate in the Bureau of Fire Investigation. Reporting directly to the FDNY Badge Desk Manager and the BFI Administrative Staff, the successful candidate will: Assist in the day-to-day operation of the Badge Desk which includes issuance of all FDNY identification cards and Department badges. Perform data entry utilizing a secure electronic identification and access control system. Assist in the collection, verification and entering of photographs biographical and biometric information into the identification and access control system. Responsible for printing identification cards for new hires, employees, contractors, honorary members, etc., as authorized by the Fire Commissioner and the Chief Fire Marshal. Issue official FDNY badges and recover identification cards and/or badges at retirements, promotions, resignations and terminations. Update card-file system and database. Perform inventory. Provide courteous customer service to FDNY community in person and via telephone.

Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
