Job Description

The mission of the New York City Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in New York City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law, preserve peace, protect the people, reduce fear, and maintain order. Clerical Associate, III (PT) candidates will perform duties that include but are not limited to the following:

- Perform clerical work in relation to records, files, and reports using alphabetical and numerical procedures
- Check records for accuracy of information and edits information in computer systems to update records
- Perform moderately difficult and responsible clerical work in maintaining and checking various records
- Data entry using automated office systems
- Receive, sort, and screen mail from correspondence

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

In compliance with Federal Law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.

CLERICAL ASSOCIATE - 10251

Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
