JOB TITLE: Cleaning Operative

LOCATION: Edinburgh Airport

PAY RATE: £13.44 per hour

WORKING HOURS: 38.5 HOURS PER WEEK, 3 on 3 off

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• To ensure that a high level of cleanliness is maintained on a daily basis within the terminal building, out buildings, and airport grounds, by completing a range of cleaning activities including mopping, sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, emptying bins and the upkeep of washrooms, toilets, offices, and external areas as directed by Supervisor.

• Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner while complying with the company’s expectations, rules and procedures.

• Assuring the proper handling of hazardous materials, correct use of uniform, correct use of PPE and safety behaviour actions landside and airside

• Ability to maintain professionalism in appearance and manners towards co-workers, clients and any other person within the airport and work location.

• Carry out any reasonable task requested.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Person Specification:

• Good attention to detail with the ability to work independently and use own initiative. Reliable and responsible with a flexible approach to work. Good communication skills and committed to quality.

• Being able to quickly adapt to a very busy operational environment.

• Able to work without constant supervision and follow the management instructions.

• Used to working as part of a team.

• Works well under pressure.

• Reliable and flexible.

• Full training will be provided.

Essential

• Previous work experience as a cleaner an advantage including knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.

• Understanding Health and Safety regulations.

• Due to the hours of working, all applicants must be over 18 years of age.

• All applicants must have the right to work in the UK with documentation to support this.

• Must undertake a CRC (Criminal Record Check) and also provide us with 5-year checkable referencing history.

• Must have valid photographic ID to support the application for an airport badge.
