Job Description
Job Responsibilities Include:
Answering phones, taking FNOL’s, and providing claim status updates.
Research Underwriting file for applicable coverage forms and endorsements and include in claim file as needed or requested.
Verify policy is active.
Send underwriting alerts when appropriate.
Understand Image Right workflows within the department.
FNOL workflows
Mail index & re-indexing workflows
Diary
Understand basic claims process and clearly explain to insureds and agents.
Understand basic policy coverages.
Be able to use Image Right and Finys in conjunction with claim adjusting functions.
Review Independent adjuster reports, determine investigation needed and applicable coverage, evaluate information to adjust reserves and/or settle claims.
Identify subrogation potential.
Maintain Diary.
Finalize settlements by obtaining appropriate documents and/or documentation.
Issue Loss and Expense payments.
Issue Compliance Letters as appropriate.
Prepare coverage denial letters and Reservation of Rights letters with manager oversight and approval.
Prepare all other written correspondence as appropriate.
Comply with Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Act for all states.
Opportunity to participate in scene investigations with independent adjusters, engineers and contractors.
Opportunity to participate in legal proceedings with defense attorneys i.e. mediations, settlement conferences or depositions.
Opportunity to participate in on or off-site claims or insurance education or events.
Deliver timely, quality customer service in all aspects of job position.
Willingness to work outside of normal hours during catastrophic weather events.
