NPE-Tech is an accredited, well-established Electrical Contracting company with offices in Palmerston North, New Plymouth, Tauranga, and Hamilton. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Civil Worker/Plant Operator to join our Tauranga team.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company with long-term career prospects. The role will suit an experienced Civil Worker/Plant Operator who can consistently deliver quality work, support field crews, and meet customer and company expectations.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Assist Line Mechanics and Cable Jointers with the installation of electrical equipment in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations
Operate our Palfinger crane truck for pole installation, replacements, and general equipment loading and transport
Assist with excavator operations, including trenching, minor civil works, ducting, and cable installation
Operate power tools, hand tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively
Participate in site and company meetings as required
Build and maintain positive working relationships within the wider team
Proactively communicate any issues that may impact the successful completion of tasks
Health & Safety Responsibilities
Take reasonable care to ensure your actions or inactions do not cause harm to yourself or others
Actively participate in all health and safety processes and initiatives
Follow all safe work procedures and instructions
Correctly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Report incidents, accidents, near misses, and hazards promptly
What We’re Looking For
Current NZ Class 2 Driver Licence
Truck-mounted crane certification
Legal right to work in New Zealand (NZ Citizen or Resident)
Strong aptitude for civil and electrical work
Motivation to transition into an apprenticeship
Wheels, Tracks and Rollers (WTR) licence preferred
