Binnie is looking for a Civil Technologist to join our Water Resource Division full-time in our Burnaby head office, located near scenic Deer Lake. Our team has been recognized for notable projects including the role of Owner’s Engineer on the Port Mann Highway 1 Improvement Project, and detailed design of the Highway 99 at 16th Avenue Interchange in South Surrey.
From our Burnaby office, you will work with our Water Resources team and Binnie’s team of professionals to provide the design and analysis of natural watercourses, drainage systems and storm water management on major transportation projects across the province.
You will also provide water resources engineering services on a variety of civil infrastructure projects for local municipalities and private developers. This challenging role offers great mentorship opportunities.
YOUR ROLE:
Preparing AutoCAD and Civil3D designs and drawings and completing design calculations
Performing and documenting quality control checks on CAD drafting and Civil 3D work in accordance with Binnie’s Quality Management Program
Preparing documentation for design folders and reports
Calculating design quantities for materials and preparation of cost estimates
Assisting in the preparation of project specifications and contract documents
Performing on-site inspection duties
WHAT YOU BRING:
0-1 years of experience on projects in a civil consulting engineering environment for Technologist role
Completed Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field
Eligible to register as a Trainee Registrant with ASTTBC or as a Technician/Technologist-inTraining (T.T.) with ASET (must be done within first three months of employment)
Previous hands-on experience working with Civil 3D
Excellent organization and time management skills
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and clients

The salary for this position is commensurate with experience; the salary range for this position is $57,190 - $79,400 annually. The final salary for this role may vary based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
