Job Title: Civil Superintendent – Heavy Highway Projects
Location: Within 1.5 hours of Syracuse, NY
Job Type: Direct Hire
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee Heavy Highway construction projects ranging from $1M–$30M. This individual will independently manage field operations for public, DOT-funded infrastructure projects including bridges, roadways, and major civil improvements.
Projects typically last 6–12 months, and Superintendents manage one project at a time. All work is located within 1.5 hours of Syracuse, NY.
This role requires strong leadership, scheduling expertise, subcontractor management, and a hands-on understanding of civil construction operations.
Compensation
Base salary up to $150,000 + up to 15% bonus
Open to hourly pay with a different benefits package
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all field operations for Heavy Highway projects ($1M–$30M)
Manage and direct 5–12 field personnel and subcontractors
Maintain project schedules and coordinate with Project Managers
Manage site logistics and material procurement
Conduct quality control inspections
Ensure safety compliance and enforce jobsite standards
Deliver projects on time and within budget
Required Qualifications
5+ years of Superintendent experience managing Heavy Highway projects
Experience independently running public, DOT-funded projects
Proven ability to manage projects ranging from $1M–$30M
Strong scheduling and subcontractor management skills
Experience with concrete, structural steel, and site development coordination
Quality control and safety management expertise
Work Environment
Field-based role
Typical hours: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM (approximately 50 hours per week)
Projects located within 1.5 hours of Syracuse
Project duration: 6–12 months
One project managed at a time
