A grademan can plan and coordinate with crews with limited supervision while accomplishing key aspects of their role. It is an expectation they adhere to the policies outlined in Hall’s HSE and are an active participant in site organization and safety.

Core Responsibilities:

Level I
• Read drawings and cut sheets
• Set up builder’s level
• Understands purpose and process to complete Peg Test (recalibration)
• Documenting AsBuilts
• Calculate HI
• Reading Shot Rod
• Able to identify ideal locations for setting up level
• Aware right of ways, sudden changes in direction & blind spots while working around powered mobile equipment
• Monitor encroachment distances if working near overhead or buried utilities
• Housekeeping skills
• Provide assistance to ground crews when necessary

Level II
• Differential Leveling (Level Loops)
• Calculate Grades and Slopes
• Setup and use of theodolite and rotating laser
• Set up GPS and Base Rover
• Importing and Exporting Files
• Prelocates – Documenting utilities
• Confirming control points
• Identifying potential conflicts and communicating with site supervisor
• Complete site layout, Topo, and Volume Calculations
