Civil Foreman
Firma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Civil Foreman to work on various civil scopes for projects in Alberta. We offer competitive wages, work / life balance, great opportunity for advancement, training and RRSP matching plan.
The Foreman is responsible for field leadership and delivery of projects specific to their scope / expertise and must provide direction to field personnel to meet (an hopefully exceed) targets and expectations related to production, schedule, safety, and quality management.
Responsibilities:
Quality management – working with project management and survey / consultant teams to ensure that workmanship meets / exceeds specifications
Health and safety management including hazard identification and analysis, worker competencies and HSE reporting
Schedule management – ensure project timelines are maintained
Provide supervision on site and daily direction to crew
Delegation of tasks for all crew members
Site maintenance – management of site housekeeping in accordance with client and company guidelines
Lead inspections and incidents - address deficiencies / issues through corrective actions
Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity
Required Skills:
3+ years of experience as a civil supervisor
Additional years of civil experience is required (non-supervisory)
Strong time management skills – able to keep crews to task and maintain an established work schedule to complete the projects in a timely fashion
Organized and able to complete regular project documentation
Able to work independently and follow instruction from the superintendent
Able to support other positions as needed
Strong communication skills – able to delegate and provide instructions clearly with sufficient detail
Proven leadership capabilities and able to mentor workers for advancement
First Aid and other certifications are considered assets
Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
