Civil Engineering Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Specialist with a strong background in building materials testing, compliance, and quality assessment. The ideal candidate will play a key role in conformity assessment, product evaluation, and ensuring compliance with international standards and regulatory requirements within the civil and construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct technical evaluation and compliance assessment of civil and building materials.
• Review and verify product conformity with applicable local and international standards.
• Perform and supervise product testing, inspection activities, and certification processes.
• Support accreditation and conformity assessment systems, including product certification and industrial metrology processes.
• Interpret and apply relevant standards such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), European Committee for Standardization (EN), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and ASTM International (ASTM).
• Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 22000, and ISO/TS 16949.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, compliance documentation, and certification recommendations.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, laboratories, inspection entities, and manufacturers to ensure compliance requirements are met.
• Provide technical guidance on standardization and regulatory updates affecting building materials.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the civil industry
• Strong background in testing, compliance, and quality assessment of building materials
• Experience working with standards, product evaluation, and conformity requirements related to civil/building materials
• Excellent written and verbal English Communication
• Arabic Speaker is preferred

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Conformity assessment (accreditation systems, product certification, product testing, inspection protocols and industrial metrology)
• Industrial standardization concepts including international standards development and implementation, i.e. ISO, IEC, EN, ANSI, ASTM etc.
• Quality management system, e.g.: ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO/TS 16949 or similar systems
