POSITION SUMMARY:
Mackin Engineers & Consultants is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Manager – Civil Engineering Services for our Land Development Department in our Pittsburgh, PA office. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing complex site civil engineering projects, a strong technical background in civil engineering, and exceptional leadership abilities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Lead and manage the civil engineering department, including overseeing project teams, resource allocation, and budget management.
Provide strategic direction and guidance for civil engineering projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budget constraints.
Collaborate with subconsultants, clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to understand project requirements and objectives, and ensure successful project delivery.
Lead the design and engineering process for civil site projects, including zoning review, site layout and grading, stormwater management and design, utility design, and permitting from conceptualization to completion.
Mentor and develop junior engineers, providing technical guidance, training, and support to foster professional growth and development.
Ability to use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and scheduling software.
Collaborate with other Mackin internal departments, such as Structural engineering, Traffic Engineering, Landscape Architecture, and Construction Management, to deliver integrated solutions for clients.
Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in civil engineering, and incorporate them into project designs and methodologies.
Participate and lead in business development activities, including proposal writing, client presentations, and networking events, to secure new projects and expand the company's private client base.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
Pennsylvania Professional Engineer (PE) license
West Virginia and Ohio Professional Engineer (PE) licenses are preferred but not required. The ability to obtain WV & OH PE's will be required within six months of hire.
10+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on site development, utility coordination and permitting.
Proven track record of successfully managing engineering teams and delivering projects on time and within budget.
Strong technical proficiency in civil engineering design software and tools.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
