Job Description
We’re a team of friends bound together by a mission to preserve our planet for future generations through innovative energy solutions and modern infrastructure. In December 2025, Google announced an agreement to acquire Intersect, to enable more data center and generation capacity to come online faster while accelerating energy development and innovation. After close, we’ll continue doing exactly what we were built to do - develop, construct, and operate the most ambitious power and data infrastructure in the country.
Intersect’s operations will remain separate from Alphabet and Google under the Intersect brand. We’re on an aggressive growth trajectory and looking for people hungry to tackle the largest energy challenges on the planet.
About this Role
As part of Intersect’s Development Engineering team, you’ll support the technical advancement of utility-scale solar, wind, and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across North America. This Civil Engineering Co-op role blends early-stage civil due diligence, feasibility analysis, and design review with process improvement and AI-enabled workflow development.
You’ll gain hands-on exposure to how large-scale energy infrastructure moves from site screening through construction readiness—partnering with development, engineering, and construction teams to identify risks, evaluate constraints, and improve how projects are designed and delivered. The work is analytical, collaborative, and impact-driven, with clear visibility into how civil engineering decisions shape long-term project value.
Team Overview
This team plays a critical role in advancing Intersect’s mission to accelerate the renewable energy transition by delivering integrated infrastructure that enables large-scale clean energy deployment. As part of the EPC organization, the Development Engineering team oversees technical scope during project development and execution—managing civil constraints, reviewing consultant deliverables, optimizing layouts, and ensuring projects are positioned for safe, efficient construction. The team partners cross-functionally to translate early-stage opportunities into buildable, high-performing assets while continuously improving engineering standards and workflows.
What You’ll Do
