Binnie is looking for a Civil Engineering Assistant (COOP Student) to join our Northern Division full-time in our Prince George office. Prince George is known as the “Northern Capital” of BC and is the largest city in the north with a growing economy and population in need of strong engineering infrastructure work.
Our Northern Division specializes in highway design, project management and engineering infrastructure solutions throughout Northern BC.
This position is in our Prince George office for the May to Aug 2026 work-term. There may be an opportunity to extend the work term to Dec 2026 depending on project requirements.
You will work closely with our talented and diverse team of experienced Engineers and Project Managers at varied experience levels. This dynamic and challenging role offers excellent mentorship opportunities.
YOUR ROLE:
• Modifying basic design drawings in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Plotting, assembling, and delivering drawing submission packages
• Preparing project documentation including hard copy and electronic file transfers
• Maintaining file naming and layer management conventions set by Binnie
• Completing field assignments as required by Project Managers
• Completing quality control procedures
• Preparing and updated as-constructed field record drawings
WHAT YOU BRING:
• Previous work experience in a civil engineering environment
• Previous exposure to AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Currently completing Degree in Civil Engineering (3rd year student preferred)
• Valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle for site visits
• Willing to work outdoors on-site as required
• Ability to consistently produce accurate, high quality work
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

The salary for this position is commensurate with experience; the salary range for this position is $24.50 - $26.50 hourly. The final salary for this role may vary based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
