Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Wastewater Engineer to support the planning, design, and implementation of municipal and commercial wastewater infrastructure projects. This role focuses on technical engineering design, regulatory compliance, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable wastewater collection, conveyance, and treatment solutions.
The ideal candidate has experience in wastewater, water resources, or environmental engineering and is comfortable working on public infrastructure projects from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and support wastewater collection systems, pump stations, force mains, and treatment facilities
• Prepare engineering calculations, hydraulic analyses, technical reports, and construction drawings
• Assist in development of plans and specifications for municipal wastewater infrastructure projects
• Coordinate with project managers, municipalities, utility authorities, and regulatory agencies
• Support permitting efforts and ensure compliance with state and federal environmental regulations
• Assist with construction administration, site visits, and field coordination as required
• Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and support project documentation
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Water Resources Engineering
• Experience in wastewater system design and infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of wastewater collection, conveyance, and treatment principles
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and permitting processes
• Strong analytical, technical writing, and documentation skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with NJDEP regulations and permitting requirements
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
• Experience with hydraulic modeling software and design tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar)
• Familiarity with municipal or public works projects
