We are looking to hire a motivated and enthusiastic Civil Engineer to join our Ground engineering&tunneling team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career engineer who is eager to develop their skills while contributing to technically challenging underground and large‑scale infrastructure projects.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
• Works as part of a ground and tunneling engineering team with other engineers at the same functional level that can be from different EC offices (Poland, Spain, India.). Undertakes non-routine, medium complex projects supported by EC.
• As a Junior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be involved in developing all aspects of mid- to large-scale projects, including managing subsurface investigations, conducting engineering analysis, preparing geotechnical design recommendations, and overseeing design and reporting to fulfill client requirements and project goals.
• Develop tasks related to ground engineering design (as bearing capacity for foundations, earthworks, stability and settlement analysis, etc.) and tunneling for a specific project.
• Perform specific and limited portions of broader engineering assignments under moderate supervision.
• Should be able to independently develop recommendations, reports (of course with guidance from our Sr Engineers), and calculations and meet deadlines.
• Conducts non-complex value engineering evaluations, determining alternative designs, materials, construction techniques.
• Works autonomously within established procedures and practices, with latitude to determine work priorities.
• Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings, including participation in interdisciplinary reviews.
• Ensures that project technical goals/milestones/ budgets are met.
 
 
• Proven track record of working on ground and tunneling engineering designs and collaborating with international and multi-cultural teams 2-5 years) for Transportation and Water Projects.
• Bachelor’s or Master degree in Geological Engineering, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering from a recognized University
• Experience with international regulations and standards.
• Experience in planning and managing subsurface investigations.
• Process geotechnical data for ground interpretation, assessment, and report preparation.
• Experienced in subsurface investigation planning and execution, foundation design (shallow and deep), slope stability, seepage analysis, retaining wall design, settlement analyses, ground improvement techniques.
• Experience in the use of specific ground engineering and tunnelling software as Geoestudio / Plaxis (2D/3D) / Rocscience / Ensoft. Others as FLAC / Midas GTS NX will be considered favorably.
• Experience in Rock Mechanics, rock slopes design.
• Experience in soft soils, ground improvement, and PVD/surcharging would be especially valuable.
• Experience in the use of Leapfrog will be considered favorably.
• Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines, external partners and clients to support efficient and successful project delivery.
• Experience in the use of Openground wil be considered favorably
• Advanced proficiency in Spanish and English (reading, writing, and speaking).
