Cisco SD WAN Engineer

About the Role:

We are urgently seeking a Cisco SD WAN Engineer to lead a mission-critical Viptela to IOS-XE SD WAN migration for a Fortune 500 client. This is a fast-paced, high-stakes engagement requiring a true expert who can architect solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and execute flawlessly under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead an enterprise-wide Viptela → IOS-XE SDWAN migration across multiple sites

• Architect and validate IOS-XE SDWAN designs, templates, policies, and integration models

• Perform pre-migration assessments, POCs, and readiness checks

• Build comprehensive migration playbooks, templates, and runbooks

• Support maintenance windows, cutovers, and post-migration stabilization

• Optimize SDWAN performance, routing, security, and reliability

• Troubleshoot complex routing, overlay, IPsec, and OMP issues in production environments

• Collaborate with client architects, engineering teams, and leadership on design and strategy

• Provide clear technical documentation and progress updates throughout the engagement

Required Experience & Skills

• 8+ years of hands-on network engineering experience

• 5+ years specializing in SDWAN technologies

• Expert-level experience with Cisco IOS-XE SDWAN

• Proven experience migrating Viptela → IOS-XE SDWAN.

• Strong knowledge of OMP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IPsec security, QoS design and optimization and Underlay/overlay architectures

• Hands-on experience with vManage, vBond, vSmart, vEdge, and cEdge platforms

• Ability to troubleshoot complex SDWAN issues under tight time constraints

Preferred Qualifications

• CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure or CCIE Service Provider (Active status preferred, but inactive/expired considered with strong hands-on experience)

• Experience with automation tools (Python, Ansible, Terraform)

• Exposure to multi-vendor SDWAN (VeloCloud, Fortinet, Silver Peak)

• Experience supporting large enterprise or service provider environments

• Cloud networking knowledge (AWS, Azure, GCP)
