Circulation Services - On Call Supervisor (000318)

This is considered a part-time, hourly, non-benefits eligible position. The minimum starting rate for the position is $21.27 per hour.

Fills in as supervisor at the Davis Family or Armstrong Library circulation desks on short notice for regular staff who need to be

absent. Maintains a general knowledge of the workings of the circulation desk at both libraries.

Core Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage student employees at the library circulation desk

• Maintain a working knowledge of the circulation component of the library services platform

• Keep up to date on circulation policies and procedures

• Possess the ability and willingness to be flexible with their work schedule, including evening and weekend shifts

• Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, staff, and community members at the circulation desk

• Communicate effectively with patrons in person, on the phone, or via email

• Keep regular circulation staff apprised of any issues or problems that may have arisen during an on-call shift

Requirements:
Position Prerequisites

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Customer service experience
• Ability to work successfully in a team-oriented environment, responding to rapidly changing demand
• Ability to handle pressure gracefully
• Previous library experience or familiarity is preferred

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

Flexibility of working hours required; nights (until library closing) and weekends may be required
