STATUS: non-exempt 

SALARY RANGE: $34.00-$43.00/hour based on experience & qualifications

LOCATION: Bellingham, WA

JOB SUMMARY: 

The Chitofining Line Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining Tidal Vision's entire flakeline production process. The ideal candidate will be well versed in safety procedures, operated on a production line from start to finish, have an understanding for mechanical repairs including pumps, motors, valves, etc. Be extremely organized and able to communicate effectively.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

Must be comfortable working around and with hazardous chemicals (including proper storage and handling)

Operate safely by wearing & maintaining PPE at all times, including working in accordance with state, federal, and local safety and quality guidelines 

Routinely conduct safety checks of all operating systems; able to troubleshoot issues with production  

Must be able to understand and follow SOPs through the entire process to ensure the quality of the end product.

Must be familiar, or show aptitude, with operating an entire production line via a HMI control panel

Must be familiar, or show aptitude, with starting up and operating a boiler, cooling system, evaporator system and dryer in a manual condition or via automation 

Has the ability to understand and memorize the production lines Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) 

Must have a high level of mechanical aptitude (will be working on pumps, motors, valves, boiler, evaporator system, etc.)

Must be proactive in continuous improvement of processes, product quality, etc.

Support or conduct QA/QC testing and documenting results (including recording data and related tasks)

Maintain the equipment and cleanliness of the production line assigned

Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and quality work

Demonstrate initiative with the ability to perform daily duties with little oversight

Report accidents, safety violations, or other concerns

Must be willing and able to work a shift schedule any days of the week, nights and possibly weekends could be a requirement due to production

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

Mechanical knowledge, ability to troubleshoot and repair system  

High safety awareness

1-3 years of operation on a production line, or related experience

Computer literacy is a must (email, docs, inputting data, etc.) 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Hazwoper 40 and OSHA 10 certification  

Forklift certification 

Technical education 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Work is performed within Tidal Vision’s warehouse. This position will be expected and required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas and while on-site. Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required. Hiring is conditional upon background check.
