Title: Children’s Summer Camp Counsellor
Contract: ESDC Summer Jobs - Non Union, Seasonal, Part time
Contract Period: June 29, 2026 – August 14, 2026
Hours: Availability from 8:30am-4pm (Monday-Friday)
Pay Rate: $17.60/hourly
Position Summary:
Albion Neighbourhood Services- BGC Albion Club (formally known as Boys & Girls Club) is looking for motivated young people to develop and implement summer camp program activities, trainings, trips and events for children ages 4-12 in the North Etobicoke community while ensuring their safety and supervision at all times.
Accountability:
Staff are expected to be willing, when requested, to explain the reasons for a decision or action to other staff or community members, particularly when others are affected by the decision or action. When affected by programming, policies and procedures, staffs are expected to offer information and opinions when relevant for the development of new or changing services, policies and procedures.

Supervised by: BGC Albion Child/Youth Manager
Work and Site reporting to: Site Lead and BGC Coordinator
Work related reporting to:
• BGC Albion Summer Camp Leads
• BGC Albion Children Coordinator
Responsibilities:
• Plan, prepare and deliver age appropriate summer camp activities, events and trips.
• Supervision of children during camp, program activities, events and outside trips.
• Assist in establishing a positive, creative, emotionally and intellectually stimulating environment within the BGC Albion Summer Camp.
• Teach and model to children appropriate social interactions and problem-solving skills.
• Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment.
• Assist in maintaining program supplies.
• Serve as a mentor and role model for campers, promoting positive behavior, cooperation, and respect among peers.
• Work cooperatively with other members of the BGC Albion Club Camp team in the planning and delivery of activities, events and trips.
• Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members, addressing any concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Actively participate in all training and staff meetings.
• Lead and motivate volunteer helpers.
• Record and maintain the attendance records and all relevant information on site.
• Submit timesheets on time
Qualifications:
• Experience working with children in a camp or afterschool setting.
• Experience planning and delivery of children’s activities, trips, and recreational activities.
• Experience supervising children in a full-day camp setting.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal English).
• Highfive Certificate is required.
• Valid First Aid/CPR certificate is required.
Eligibility Requirements
• Must be a full-time student in the 2025-26 academic year and going back to school in fall in 2026-2027 academic year. Proof of enrollment will be required at the time of interview.
• Must be able to attend in person training from June 29 to July 3, 2026 from 9:30am – 5:00pm.
• Must provide a copy of Police Clearance at the time of interview.
• Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment period
• A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee protection
• Legally entitled to work in Canada, with a valid Social Insurance Number
Camps are located in Rexdale and Kipling area (M9V)
