Supervise and monitor safety of children in their care.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Protect confidentiality of client information and shelter location as per policies and Georgia statutes.
Assist children with personal hygiene needs like hand washing, diaper changing, and ensuring proper sanitation practices.
Maintain cleanliness of children’s areas.
Actively engage with children during support groups & childcare.
Actively monitor children’s safety during groups & childcare.
Create a positive and organized environment & establish appropriate transitions.
Follow established curriculum and daily lesson planning.
Transport children as needed offsite (schools, daycares, parks, etc).
Attend all department and agency meetings as scheduled.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed:
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to handle crisis situations in a calm, deliberate manner.
Ability to drive 15-passesnger van and maintain clean driving record.
Understanding of child development stages.
Familiarity with community resources and service providers
Ability to work with a diverse group of youth and their parents.
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Formal Training:
High School Diploma
Bi-lingual preferred (English & Spanish)
Work Experience:
Minimum of two years’ experience working with children.
Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and some weekends, based on program needs; typical hours during the school year will be 7am-3pm. Occasional nights and weekends.
Minimum 21 years of age with a clean driving record & a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to pass background check.
Ability to work cooperatively with staff, volunteers, & community partners.
