Fixa is building the HR and financial infrastructure for Africa’s informal and blue-collar workforce. Our platform supports businesses in construction, manufacturing, agriculture, and other labor-intensive sectors with powerful tools for workforce management, payroll, payments, and financial services.

About the Role

We are looking for a CTO who will be responsible for Fixa’s overall technology vision, architecture, and execution. This role ensures the platform is secure, scalable, compliant, and capable of supporting rapid growth across multiple fintech products and partnerships.

Core Responsibilities

• Own the long-term technology strategy aligned with business and regulatory goals

• Lead and scale engineering teams, systems, and development processes

• Ensure platform security, reliability, and regulatory compliance

• Oversee architecture decisions for scalability, integrations, and data

• Partner closely with Product, Data, and Operations leadership

• Establish engineering culture, standards, and performance management

Required Experience & Profile

• 8+ years of engineering experience, with 5+ years in senior leadership roles

• Proven experience scaling fintech or regulated platforms in growth-stage companies

• Strong understanding of payments, lending systems, APIs, and data infrastructure

• Experience building and leading high-performing technical teams

• Ability to balance speed, technical debt, security, and long-term scalability
