Role Summary and Impact

This role is pivotal in driving financial transformation and operational excellence across the market. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will oversee all the financial activities for one of top 15 global markets - Indonesia.  As the CFO of WPP Media Indonesia, you will manage and develop the financial and commercial product to ensure delivery of the best-in-class financial reporting, cost management and commercial growth in the Indonesia operations.

Reports to:  Regional CFO of WPP Media Asia Pacific and CEO of WPP Media Indonesia

Key Milestones & Deliverables:

• Within 3 Months: Develop a foundational understanding of WPP Media's local business, financial structures, systems, and key stakeholder relationships.

• Within 6 Months: You will also initiate key financial transformation initiatives. Provide strategic financial insights, drive profitability and efficiency improvements, and begin optimizing the Finance team structure.

• Within 12 Months: Your efforts will have resulted in significant financial and operational transformation, positioning the business for sustained growth. Lead commercial negotiations, deliver tangible cost savings and workflow efficiencies, and ensure robust financial reporting and WPP policy compliance.

Commercial Management

• Advice client leaders on key financial levers to achieve their PBT targets, which also involve providing support and working closely on terms of business– client contract negotiation and payment terms negotiation.

Overall Business Growth Strategy

• Work with WPP Media Indonesia CEO to develop business annual growth strategy for the group and build a roadmap for growth over 3 years.

Financial & Treasury Management

• Work closely with WPP Media Indonesia CEO and WPP Media Regional CFO in all aspects of financial delivery and performance. This include optimising cashflow management and working closely with WPP and WPP Media Asia Pacific on working capital management.

Corporate Governance

• Responsible for all governance frameworks including but not limited to SOX Compliance, Trading Compliance, Audit Compliance, Tax Compliance, in line with WPP/WPP Media policies and compliance requirements.

Operational Efficiency

• Review finance structure and bench strength to ensure the right capabilities, competencies and capacities are in place. Ensure proper systems, processes and infrastructure are designed and deployed for delivery of accurate and timely financial reports.

Mergers & Acquisitions and Partnerships

• Work closely with CEO to identify potential targets for acquisition. Manage the acquisition process (working closely with WPP and regional finance) and integrate the business into WPP Media.

Skills and Experience

• Professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA) from a recognised accounting programme and 15+ years of related senior financial and administrative experience, ideally within a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

• Experience from Big 4 with significant exposure to audit, as well as a proven track record in driving process improvement and financial system implementations.

• Excellent technical skills and up to date knowledge of relevant standards, tax requirements and corporate governance issues within Indonesia.

• An up-to-date conceptual understanding of digital marketing pillars (search, social, programmatic, etc.) and its impact on our organization structure and on our clients’ business. Ability to leverage technology for financial insights and operational efficiency.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and decision-making skills in the face of ambiguity. Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial data into actionable strategic recommendations.

• Effective written, verbal and listening communication skills. A strong communicator and influencer, capable of driving change across diverse teams.

• A resilient negotiator with a proven track record of contract negotiations, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence and valuations from both a legal and financial perspective. Experience in post-merger integration is highly valued.

• Demonstrated leadership in building, developing, and transforming high-performing finance teams.

• A strategic mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement in financial operations.
